Add timeless elegance to your garden with the beautifully crafted Good Directions Victorian Arrow Copper Cottage Weathervane. Featuring an ornate Victorian-style arrow design, this traditional copper weathervane makes a striking decorative feature for sheds, garages, gazebos and smaller buildings.

Expertly crafted from copper with traditional brass compass points, this fully functional weathervane combines classic Victorian styling with durable outdoor construction. The weather-resistant verdigris coating provides an attractive aged appearance from day one.

Standing approximately 590mm (23.2 inches) tall when assembled, this elegant Victorian arrow weathervane features a 540mm (21.3-inch) directional arrow and a sturdy powder-coated steel assembly rod.

Supplied with a 125mm (5-inch) eaves mounting bracket as standard, with alternative fixing brackets available, select your bracket type from the drop down box.

Construction

Copper Copper is used on our 3D ranges (heads and ball spacers) offering timeless quality with corrosion-free durability. We have sprayed the copper to give it an all over natural looking patina The 3D bodies are handcrafted from beaten copper sections and brazed. The brazing will be visible, but this does not tend to detract from the overall good looks of our copper weathervanes.

Steel Construction Steel is used for the rotation rods and standard bracket mount on the 3D weathervanes. The steel is coated with an exterior quality powder coat paint for extended life.

Exterior Protection

Verdigris Powder Coat Finish Our Copper Verdigris 3D weathervanes are coated with an exterior quality powder coat paint which protects the weathervane and offers a durable finish. You can expect this finish to look good for quite some time!

Black Powder Coat Paint The weathervane rods and mounts are coated with an exterior quality powder coat paint which protects the steel and offers a durable finish. For extended life, we suggest giving the mount a coat of Hammerite paint.

Real copper, shaped by hand

It changes colour with age

Polished copper softens to a warm brown, then over the years to the green verdigris you see on old church roofs. That’s genuine copper doing what it does. A clear lacquer slows it down.

Handcrafted and brazed

Each figure is formed from copper sections and brazed together by hand. You may see the joins. They’re the mark of something made by hand, not a fault.

Brass points, steel rod

The N, S, E and W letters are cast brass. The rod and bracket are steel with an exterior powder coat. A coat of Hammerite every few years keeps them looking smart.

Cottage weathervane questions

Sheds, garages, gazebos, workshops, summerhouses, fence posts and smaller homes. They’re proportioned for buildings where a full-size farmhouse weathervane would look too big.

The 5″ eave bracket fixes to a wall, fascia or gable end. The post bracket fixes to the top of a fence or gazebo post. You get one of these free, whichever you choose. A roof mount straddles a pitched ridge, and a garden pole stands in a lawn or border.

Not forever. Outdoors it softens to a warm brown and, over the years, to a green verdigris. A clear lacquer slows this down but won’t stop it. If you want the aged look from day one, choose the verdigris finish.
