Weather Vanes for Sale

We suggest going by the building it will sit on and how far away it will be seen from. For a shed, fence post or gazebo, Oakley weather vanes stand about 45 to 55cm tall. For a garage, summerhouse or bungalow, the Cottage range is about 40 to 70cm. For a house roof or barn, Farmhouse weather vanes stand about 75cm to 1.25m, and our Traditional weather vanes, at about 80 to 93cm, suit houses and outbuildings.

Steel weather vanes have a black powder-coated finish and make a crisp silhouette against the sky. Copper weather vanes are handcrafted in three dimensions and change colour over the years, from bright copper to brown and then the green of an old church roof. If you’d like that aged look from the start, we suggest a verdigris-effect finish.

Alongside the classic cockerel and arrow, there’s a Spitfire, a Typhoon jet, a classic Land Rover and a steam engine. There’s a flying pig, Old Father Time, golfers, a cricketer and dogs from Labradors to cockapoos. Plenty of people choose one for the thing they love, which is why they make such good presents.

You don’t need a roof. An Oakley fits neatly on a fence post, and our steel garden poles hold a Cottage or Farmhouse weather vane above a lawn, border or paddock. There’s also a bird feeder pole with a working weather vane on top.

Every weather vane comes with a bracket, so most go on a wall, fascia or post straight from the box. For roof ridges, hip roofs, post tops and lawns, there’s a fitting for each range in our brackets, mounts and parts.

Delivery is free to the UK mainland on orders over £50, and on every Oakley weather vane (excluding the Highlands and islands). UK orders go by DPD or Royal Mail. We also deliver to the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland.
