Oakley Weathervanes
Good to know before you buy
Oakley weather vanes are our small steel designs: bold black silhouettes sized for a shed roof, a fence post, a gazebo or the garage. Each one comes boxed with everything you need to fit it, and delivery to the UK mainland is free.
How big are they?
People sometimes call them mini weathervanes. Most stand about 45 to 55cm tall and measure 38cm across the compass arms. That’s big enough to read the wind from across the garden, and small enough to suit a shed or summerhouse roof.
What’s in the box
A steel figure on a ball-bearing pivot, so it turns freely in the wind. N, S, E and W arms that lock in place with a cross fitting. An upright stem and a stand-off stem, so it can stand straight up or out from a wall. A universal clamp bracket with backplate (73mm x 55mm), screws, wall plugs and fitting instructions.
Where to fit one
On the end of a shed roof, a fascia board, a wall or the side of a fence post. We suggest a spot the wind reaches from every side, clear of trees and taller buildings.
The designs
There are more than 25 to choose from. Dogs include the Labrador, spaniel, cockapoo and German shepherd. Countryside favourites include the fox, badger, stag and owl and mouse. And there are designs with a story, like the Spitfire, the Typhoon jet, the classic Land Rover, a vintage motorcycle and Old Father Time. Each comes boxed, so they make a good present.
Looking after it
The black powder coat is made for the outdoors. A coat of Hammerite every few years keeps it looking smart.
Would copper suit a shed?
It would. Our Cottage range brings handcrafted copper to sheds, garages and smaller homes too.
Is delivery free?
Yes. Every Oakley weather vane comes with free delivery to the UK mainland (excluding the Highlands and islands).
